The gay lobbies in several countries are stepping up efforts to hush the lyrics of such dancehall artists as Elephant Man, Sizzla, Buju Banton, Beenie Man, TOK, and others by pressuring retail outlets to remove their music from sale. I-Tunes Canada has removed singles from dancehall artists and have recently began removing entire LPs containing singles with lyrics containing hatrid for gay and lesbian behavior and people. Elephant Man’s “Log On” containing the lyric “Bun Out Di Freaky Man” apparently warranted his entire LP being removed from I-Tunes Canada.
In the past decade, these groups have successfully blocked public performances on the grounds of hate speech and local laws governing human rights policies. Sizzla’s European tour is reportedly seeing some cancellations due to French Gay & Lesbian Lobbying groups protesting his lyrics.
There will be further reports here on REDDAFIRE.COM regarding this issue as we learn about these unfolding events, check it back!

DANCEHALL REGGAE ARTIST: The beast is at the door!: Submitted by rastainoz.com
Peter Thatchell and his Campaign to Kill Dancehall Music
The man behind the ‘The Stop Murder Music campaign’ Australian-born Peter Thatchell who resides in England became famous for his statements ‘Porn can be good for you’ and ‘Was Jesus Gay’ but for Reggae Music lovers he is also becoming famous for trying to silence any Reggae Dancehall artist that don’t agree with him and sign the (Gay) Reggae Compassionate Act.
So I thought I would take a look at some of the things Peter Thatchell has said and done in the past to see why he is fighting this Gay Crusade against Freedom of Speech in Jah Reggae music.
Peter Thatchell has said of porn: ‘Using sexually explicit imagery can be egalitarian, health promoting, emotionally fulfilling and life saving’ and was also labelled by Ken Livingstone the ex-mayor of London as a ‘Islamophobic’ that Ken later withdrew with an apology that still didn’t save his Job as London’s mayor. Peter was also recently arrested after ambushing the Olympic torch parade in London.
Britain’s most renowned gay activist and civil rights campaigner who has been painted by the mainstream media as a hero, has spent a lot of time of late, telling blacks how they should run their countries from Jamaica, to Mugabe in Zimbabwe to criticising Nelson Mandela for not speaking out against Mugabe, and note: Nelson is still not listening to him.
Peter’s father left the family when he was four in Melbourne Australia with his mother’s second marriage to a strict evangelical Christian, could account for his lifetime of campaigning against the Christian Church in England where in one of his online articles said (here’s link)
‘I have been far more robust and frequent with my protests against Christian fundamentalism; having outed 10 Anglican bishops in 1994 to expose the hypocrisy of their anti-gay stance, interrupted the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Easter sermon in 1998 over his support for homophobic discrimination’
Peter Tatchell has questioned the sexuality of Jesus Christ, and said: ‘Was Jesus queer? We don’t know. But it is a possibility that cannot be ruled out’,he also accuses Christianity of crimes against queer humanity, and said:”The Bible is to gays what Mein Kampf is to Jews.
Well looking at this very short background of Peter Tatchell’s over the last 40 years of campaigning for gay rights and a lot of other things, third world Reggae artists may not have a hope in hell (Babylon) and will all have to sign if they want to sell their music in the first world.
Peter Tatchell has spent a life time fighting against some of the foundation messages built into reggae for years, like Jah Word, the Bible, and for Jamaica this guy reminds me of some white gay colonial ruler thinking he knows what’s best for the Island nation (and that’s coming from a white guy).
I never saw so many Christian churches in one little place till I went to Jamaica and with christian values on gays and Dancehall music as an export look out JA! Peter Tatchell is coming with the (Gay) Reggae Compassionate Act for your aritist to sign on the dotted line’, and for DANCEHALL REGGAE ARITIST: The beast is at the door!

Nice comment jah LIve……I strongly suggest an aritcle by Caroilyn Cooper called “More Fire: Chanting Down Babylon from Bob Marley to Capleton.” This should help anyone to overstand the artists’ perspective if you’re unclear on this specific struggle. Big up all Dancehall massive who never sell out! One…
